Final deal between Eto'o and Inter close

Catalan sports papers El Mundo Deportivo and Sport claim that Barcelona forward and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto'o (28) has reached an agreement with Inter Milan.

El Mundo Deportivo claims that Eto'o personally gave the green light for the deal. Sport claims that Eto'o will sign a five-year deal worth 11 million euro (plus a maximum of 1 million euro incentives) a year. There would only be a few details left that will be arranged during a new meeting tomorrow.

After a new three-hours meeting with Inter officials, Mesalles told journalists that a deal has been found: "It has been a very positive meeting. Eto'o is very happy with the offer of Inter. We made a lot of steps forward, there's still work to do but I'm optimistic. On Thursday we'll meet again. It's not yet signed, but I'll think we'll close the deal. It's not about the exit bonus, it's about other issues. But Eto'o wants to join Inter and we want to complete this deal."

This is NOT official until it is posted on the Barca Web site. I for one hope it is so we can put this sorry state of affairs behind us. This will then allow us to move forward to complete the squad. Lets stop bashing Eto'o and welecome (i hope) ZI

In the end counts just how much we must (over)pay in that case. Time will tell if Pep and the board has made a good decision, it just doesn´t look like that right now.

Thats what I am worried about oo, i don't want the amount to be too large because evrytime Ibra misfires (I hope he wont) the Euro sign will keep on popping up in my eyes and it will hurt more.

There's more to this than we know. I'm willing to bet my right nut that Inter now has an option regarding Messi. They probably struck a deal where they'll get knowledge of any bid regarding Messi and will have 1st rights if they match it. Cause other than that, no one in their right mind would want Eto'o.

That could be true, but thats if Messi is ever available for sale...which might be never or very late in his career when we already have another young star in the making!!.

Of course Sanur. I didn't mean to imply that Barca will sell him next year. I just find it weird why Inter was caving in to Eto'o's demands so easily.

I don't think that Barca will put Messi up for sale for till he's 26 or something.

I saw a low life stalker take up B4L's name, so he had to use his goggle account cos the stalker was posting sh!t in his name.
I tried to set a google acc in my old name, but guess what? some1 had always wanted that name. So it was gone.

Just a question...Just how many socios are here.....this is not a time to kid or joke and act childish....the real cules on here would not be in the mood to joke at a time when our club is trying to complete a major transfer for an upcoming season where we have to defend our three titles and facing a new madrid side (although they'll still fail). And people are here talking about Grandpas, Dads, and using someone elese name etc....whats all that got to do with Barca.

If you want to act like kids go play in the playground or join a real madrid Blog Not here.

i can confirm there is no first option deal with inter regarding messi this was suggested by moratti but laporta made it clear that no future board should be bound by decisions taken by this current board, simply putting it inter promised ibra an option to leave if a big non italian club wanted him for a good price as ibra has done much for inter and moratti and mourinho are big admirers of eto'o so want to include him in the deal as it closes a signing for ibras departure, barring no problems the deal shoudl be done and completed by friday.

I was pretty sure the "new offer" was BS. Still a lot of people here bought it and started their silly Eto'o hating comments. Again... Eto'o isn't doing anything ANY player wouldn't do. Especially when you talk about highest level ones. I guess now is up to Barca to set a finalcial agreement with Ibra, which I hope you all don't forget, is going to try to take as much as he can from Barca.
I think by Friday we will have something "official" and by Monday or so we will have something on the Barca site. :D

@insideknowledge, just curious since you know things we dont around here, can a club really option off a player like messi without his consent? i mean like, wouldnt messi had it worked into his contract that any such agreement should at least have prior discussions with him if not his own say so. it couldnt be just laporta's decision not to saddle future mgt with something like that. there would have a clause written into messi's contract to filter things that would tend to compromise any his future plans he may have . he's just not any player after all.

I hope Etoo doesn't talk any smack after he leaves and both sides end up on good terms. I don't want Barca to have any distractions to deal with so we can screw Madrid's project. If we can stop Madrid from doing anything this season, I predict the collapse of their imperialistic empire :)

And it seems that MD it's doing it's share to cool the atmosphere. They had a story where people can come and thank Etoo for all he has done.

Hopefully Etoo can do the same and say positive things about Barca.

Just saw Barca training on skysports news. Guddy then gave an interview to the press.

"He is in love with football, hes an example to every young player"

Guddy on Messi for coming 1 week early.

adding "money cant buy you sucess. And you need a strong caoch who can handle big personalities- speaking about Madird."

He also added that Ibra is agood player and IF he can adapt quicky to Barca's style he would be a sucess.

As I said in a previous thread, I believed the deal would go through. It was just too far along for it not to, frankly.

And even if there is an exit bonus, it's easy for two mega-clubs to build 6m into varied and sundry things.

Really, there is no viable option for the two clubs. Eto'o can't stay, and Ibrahimovic doesn't want to. This made it easier for the folks with the whip hand to drive a hard bargain.

It feels good, and the comments from Eto'o's agent are particularly encouraging. And Ibra's hand injury isn't a fracture, so good news on that front, as well.

The final numbers will come out, but who knows if they are the real numbers.

The last sho was a different one. What's with everyone on this blog? Stop the bashing, it's so damn stupid.

I think the moment the actual price of the Ibra deal is revealed and it says official, everyone here is going to praise the board, because I bet its no more than 30 mill+Eto'o. Hleb has joined the squad for pre-season, so I don't think he is leaving on loan.
