Barcelona site Pelikano claims that the transfer of Zenit Saint-Petersburg forward and Russian international Andrei Arshavin (27) didn't go through because Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola wasn't convinced of the qualities of the player.
Besides that, Metallurg Donetsk vice president Dimitri Sellyuk, the agent of Barcelona player Yaya Touré who acted as intermediary (read more here), would have tried to arrange an agreement with former Barcelona player and manager Johan Cruijff without fully informing Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain.
