Medical: Milito could join group in October

Catalan sports paper El 9 Esportiu claims that Barcelona central defender Gabriel Milito (28) could return to Barcelona in a few weeks.

The Argentinian is now in his home-country recovering from a knee injury. He hasn't felt pain anymore over the last few days and it is expected he could join group training in October.

This would be one of the reasons why the Barcelona board wouldn't be willing to spend a lot of money on another central defender this summer.

Milito suffered a right knee injury on 29 April 2008 during the second game of the Champions League semi-finals against Manchester United last season. The predicted recovery time was then being estimated between six and nine months.

it's the truth when i say it's over for him, he'll never be a top class player again. milito will leave barca next year. october will come and we will hear he will have to do a few more weeks of training and it keeps going on, it's sad really cause this guy could probably have gone 5 more yrs at the highest lvl.

when you sit on your arse in 2 years of your prime, you aren't gonna be a great player anymore and certainly not good enaugh for Barca.

get rid of him ASAP if you can still get a few millions for him.

If Van Nistelrooy was world class after his injury 2001 then Milito can be it to?!

there is a big difference son...

Van Nistelrooy wasn't 29 years old...he has 24 and still had time.

With that said Van Nistelrooy didn't miss TWO years. And he might have been an exception...

so just because Ruud was world class doesn't mean every body reacts the same especially since they have different injuries as well.

I want to add that as a human being, I think that his knee should not only wait to heal, but to go through immense physical therapy so that he can REALLY be ready for intense playtime on the field.
