Spanish news agency EFE claims that Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola (38) will start talking about his contract renewal when the summer transfer window has ended.
Besides the transfer talks, Guardiola also wants the club to give priority to the renewal negotiations with Barcelona players Carles Puyol, Rafael Márquez and Lionel Messi.
Guardiola, whose current contract expires at the end of the season, would be ready to accept that in his new contract a clause will be inserted that would say that the new board that will take over after the presidential elections in 2010 will have their hands free to decide if they want to continue with him for the 2010-2011 season. Guardiola's contract renewal will be linked to the renewal of Barcelona assistant coach Tito Vilanova.
