Key thing is (besides this story being true) is: does Guardiola see Maxwell as a left wing option? If not, no need to do this because then you're paying an extra salary and you don't really add something. Can't see it happen.

I saw Maxwell playing very high up on the field against Seattle Sounders. I think he did the job quite well.

Don't believe everything that you read tengku. Last transfer season Barca too has an agreement with Bayern for a price tag of 25mil, I think. Look what happen.

Anyway, with Maxwell given the chance to prove himself next season, we may not need to find an exorbitantly priced LW anymore tho having one, as a replacement for Henry and rotation/cover for Maxwell will be a plus. That of course depends on Maxwell performance next season. It could be Maxwell, as cover for Mata or Silva or Villa or whoever Barca can snag.

Laport must take him very fast, he'll be very usefull. Maxwell coud play on back or wing, Abidal can play on the left back or center back. Iff we sign Felipe, there is no need for Chyrginsky. So that's a good news. This summer just need to sign him and Cesc or Aguero, 50 millions is not unpossible for Laporta, and we will have very strong team for folowing seasons.

Filipe and Maxwell did play together previously... Filipe had been on loan at Ajax for an year when Maxwell was still there.
Seems like all old pals are getting back together at Barca (Maxwell, Ibra & Filipe had been at Ajax in 2004-05 season) :P

Maxwell CAN play at a winger position, but how good is he?

And I think Felipe is more than "Ok." he was chosen for the best LB in the league by many experts!

If we sign this guy for free and then Fabregas wich is pretty impossible we have a winger, a super rotation,good Left backs and the centreback pos can be solved out easily.


Why can he leave for free if he ask for it? Why can't Fabregas do like this?

Maxwell at left wing in a 4-3-3 wouldn't work. You need specific qualities for that and he just doesn't have them. He's someone who has to come from behind, then he's at his best. Can't imagine Guardiola accepting this. Jeffren or Pedro are far better options at left wing compared to Maxwell.

Maxwell would actually be used like Keita had been used last season... Toure CDM, Xavi CM & Maxwell LCM. Would be more of a squad player than a starter. Maxwell himself anounced he knew he was going to be just a squad player but he would put efforts to become a starter :)

Groga, good idea is to sell Abidal, and sign Felipe for free. The better option woud be excanging Abidal for Philip Lahm, plus 20 millions. Lahm is so good player for Barca, he has experience but he's still a young. He has very good offansive performances, almost like Dani Alves. How it looks great and powerfull to se both of them on the left and right sides. Lahm also can play right or left with the same quality, so he can be solution for right back if Dani Alves has a injury or cards.

Iff we sell Gudjonsen, Keitha Henrique and Abidal we could get 30 millions.

For that money we can sign new players Felipe(for free), Lahm (30 millions)and Cesc (50 millions). So that plan cost between 40 and 50 millions, but it's not too much for getting Felipe and another two young world class players. Next year we can sell Henry and someone else, and buy Aguero and we will have a team for future.

For this year, Felipe, Lahm and Cesc will closing any problem in squad, every position will be covered with fantastic players.

the reason felipe can leave on free is because deportivo did not yet pay the fees to his former club and it has already been 2 years hence yesterday FIFA apparently made this judgement:)

mate maxwell can play winger in 4-3-3 as he did so with good effect in ajax which uses the same formation and philosophy as barca... anyways even if he could't we could still have a plan B in smaller matches using 4-4-2 with maxwell and pedro on the wings and (bojan, henry) or (messi, ibra) combo upfront and (busi, xavi) or (yaya, jonathan) or (keita, iniesta) or (yaya, iniesta) or (keita, yaya)
in the middle.... this way we could get to watch a new barca which will be an alternative in some matches to the usual 4-3-3... i know pep dosen't generally change formations but it'll be fun and refreshing to watch barca in a different formation...

Please don't compare playing winger at Ajax in the Dutch league (something he did only ocassionaly, they turned him into left back there) were all teams attack, with playing winger at Barca that plays against parked busses every game. Maxwell could play the iniesta position maybe, but for the left wing, Jeffren and Pedro are so much better options.

trez: are you sure about that? As far as I know, he came to Ajax as a left-back, and was so offensive that he was used as winger when needed. Alot of the opposition against Ajax in the Dutch league don't attack alot, but stay behind and try to counter-attack Ajax.

Well if this report is true, then the big question is whether Filipe is willing to come to Barcelona a year after he was recognized as the best LB in La Liga by some and a year before the World Cup, to possibly sit behind Abidal or Maxwell. He won't get regular playing time to show his worth and it would be even worse for his chances to play for Brazil if he is sitting behind a compatriot who is in his late 20's and has never been invited to the national team.

You don't know so much abouth Manager game (on the highest level), and probably you don't know what is real life and real FC Barcelona. Barca is great club, Barca have a lot of money, most of players want to play for Barca. So, tell me, why it's ridicoulus or unreal to get Felipe, when he wants to come and it's for free.
Why is unpossible to get a Cesc, if you pay 50 millions, or Lahm for 30 millions or what is problem to pay some money for Chyrginsky or some players if you have Barca's budget and if you have some good players for sell or for exchange.
If Guardiola wants Cesc, Lahm, Felipe.. they will come. Few months before, singing of Ibra was a maybe just a fantasy, now he's ours.
This is Barcelona man, club who signed players like Ibra, Henry, Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Romario, Maradona, Lineker, Cryuf....

Mi jos trebamo 2 igraca. Jednog centerhalfa i jednog za Pokrivu Xavi i Inieste, ali nece to biti Cesc zato sto je preskup. Mi sigurno jos trebamo 2 igraca.

Vozdra brate, ja sam iz Srebrenika kod Tuzle, neki dan sam bio poslom nekim u Modrici. Navijam za Barcu od malena, vec nekih 15 godina. Veliki pozdrav iz Bosne.

Sorry people for Bosnian language, as you can see, Barca has so many supporters in Bosnia, there are many similar things abouth Barca and Bosnia.
