Reina keeps Barcelona door open

Asked about the rumours earlier this year linking him with a return to Barcelona (read more here), Liverpool goalkeeper and Spanish international José Manuel Reina (26) has said in an interview with Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo that he wasn't contacted:

"That was just something of the transfer rumour mill, it's a way to put pressure by one of the parties involved.

For me it's an honour, it's nice to be linked with a club like Barça, but there was no contact at all. Having said that, the door will also be open, but not only the Barça's door. Well-educated people are grateful and I'll always be grateful to Barça. If one day I would return, I would be delighted."

How much would he cost because i want him as valdez is not that great he makes alot of mistakes

He's not talking about this summer, it's about somewhere in the future. If he signs his renewal (what's taking them so long?), Valdes will be the number one for at least three-four more years. Valdes is good enough for us.

and ofcourse while we are waiting or negotiating with our minds about how much money a player will cost without asking,other teams are making transfers,zhirkov flew today to london for medical acording to newspapers and is gonna be announced soon.

while we are being too cheap even for filipe.we gave an ultinatum to accept our 8mill offer.....common give 10 and get it done already.i know 2 mill arent small money but for a club of barcelona caliber it should be and it shouldnt be an obstacle.we are being cheap as hell this year.

He would have to come after his contract expires cause rafa wont sell him cheap. The one that got away. I hope he does come back one day.

in regards to zhirkov sport express is garbage. they've supposedly signed him 3x and flew him out to london twice.

Miguel Angel Moya signed with valencia? we have valdes and pinto ,valdes hasnt signed yet. jorquera is on his way out,is oier or mino gonna get promoted?or are we interested in another keeper?

We need to buy Reina and sell Valdes immediately. Valdes is our biggest weakness and everyone knows it. When we play Madrid all they will need to do is let C-ron and Kaka fire shots anywhere within 30 yards of our goal and most of them will probably go in.

also, although valdes isnt as consistent as we would all like him to be. i feel like he is one of the truly 'clutch' keepers. he always shows up to big games and he was better than consistent against chelsea and madrid, man U, chelsea again...etc

whenever we count him out, he performs better. when he got hurt in the CL final and looked shaken, his goal kick and throw distribution was better than that of any keeper i have ever seen, ever.

when we played lyon i said he was dead to me, but as of now, im happy we have him.

Oh and maybe thats why he is the same age but is valued at like 10 mil euro less than reina?
