do you guys remember the spanish young midfielder who reminded everyone like a new iniesta in who barça was interested in?? i think he played in zaragoza or something.. really think they should go for him if not too expensive.. looked really talented and isn't much of a risk like expensive players (masch) or over-the hill old players(POULSEN!)

not sure what you're talking about, but we were interested in Alberto Zapater for a while.. not sure why we stopped. That, my friend is quite aa good idea! He's cheap and Spanish and from what I remember, quite a monster as a DM! I think he broke 3 of our players' bones in a single game once haha.

back to topic, Poulsen is a poor, poor alternative to the kind of DMs that we would need (Masch, DDR, etc) he's poor technically and seems always lost in plays. We don't need him

hope this is just a rumour, as i never liked this unfair, non-sportman, rarely-technical crap.
the only thing he knows is destroying without having other skills, including passing skills.
don't believe that he's a good option for a team like barca, with it's different game-philosophy, that needs players who are also able to fit in into the tiki-taka-game.
ridiculous to even think about him

Actually we dont need a big name signing in the midfield. Poulsen would be perfect we have

Xavi Iniesta Toure Keita Busquets and Thiago.

All we really need is somebody to fill in for the 1.5 months when toure and keita could leave for the ACN. So we dont need mascherano or cesc reallly. We just need another player that we can add to the midfield in case we end up with

Xavi Iniesta Busquets and Thiago

as our only central midfielders during January and one or two of them are injured at the same time. Sort of like how we added Davids and Albertini a while back.

I wanna start out by saying that I dont think we should buy him either.
Hes not the sort of DM we need.

But regarding if it should be him or bying Marcherano for a shit load of money. I would say Poulsen. They are equaly bad when it comes to the technical aspects of the game.

Hs really not a bad player, but hes just not good enough for Barca (Neither of them for that matter).

Oh and just a little side comment, I know hes old but I would love to see Makelele in the blaugrana jersey =)

if we are looking for a back up DM then why not Ignacio Camacho? hes only 19, spanish and has played for atletico so has experience.
i also like Miguel Veloso. i presume that these two players would be cheapier options than mascherano and better options than poulsen.

I heard Veloso is a a flashy player like C Ronaldo so i'm not sure we want him. As for Camacho, i think we are looking more for an experienced head. We already have Thiago who is 18 and Jonathon Dos Santos who is also young that can fill in in the centre of the midfield, the problem is we want somebody that we can have for maybe 1 season or 2 and then sell.

Buying Camacho would most likely be expensive and then result in us having to sell a 21 year old player next season when yaya and keita dont need to leave and he wants to play first team football. A player aged 30 like Poulsen could be more willing to take bench time at a big club as opposed to a 19 year old who wants to make his name and play.

I dont want old players, I look at the situation, whats the sense in buying a young midfielder when we have Iniesta Xavi Busquets Yaya all under 30 with Thiago and Keita also in our rotation. We buy a young player and then what do we do next season when we dont have the ACN? Sell them at a loss like Caceres? Right now we dont need a young midfielder.

If you tell me you want to buy Cesc and you will move Iniesta to the left wing I am all for that, or if you want to tell me that you want Ribery for the left wing i would say great (my only concern was if he could score goals the way henry currently does).

But if you tell me you want aguero, I'd say why we have the best young talent in the world in our academy just waiting for their chance. We had Cesc we had reina we have Messi Xavi Iniesta Puyol Pique Busquets. I dont see the need to buy 22 year olds for crazy money when we have the best 17 and 18 year olds in our youth academy.

Are you really suggesting that we use marquez or a youngster during the crucial part of the season? Remember madrid have no players going to the ACN, and they will be going all guns blazing. And what happens if xavi and marquez go down injured for a month during the ACN? That leaves

Iniesta Busquets Thiago for our midfield and kids. Then what?

The fact is we need cover for our midfield and not somebody who is going to be unhappy sitting on the bench. Buying 19 or 22 year olds does not really make sense right now because we want and experienced player. We dont need any flashy buys for our midfield. Just and experienced player who can come in when needed and do the job. Not 18 and 17 year olds to go to come up against sevilla getafe and atletico

I certainly recommend using Marquez if Busquets is injured for a month during ACN. Poulsen is crap, just because he is old doesn't automatically mean he is good for Barcelona. Buying him for 15m to be a benchwarmer during 1 month of ACN and then sit in the stands for 8 months is madness. Pure and simple. This sort of occurance is what we have our youth system for. Remember Puyol who got the chance to debut for us when we had alot of injuries, no one thought he would be a star when he was younger.
