Medical: Ibrahimovic succesfully operated

Barcelona player Zlatan Ibrahimovic (27), who got injured during a friendly game with his former club Inter Milan last week, underwent surgery earlier today.

Doctors Xavier Mir and Ricard Pruna succesfully operated the Swedish striker, who has broken the base of the second metacarpal bone of his left hand.

Ibrahimovic is expected to be out for the next three weeks and should be available for the Joan Gamper Trophy against Manchester City on 19 August. His injury doesn't prevent the player from taking part in the US tour.

well he is gone and soon when Ibra starts scoring goals we will be happy again,i trust that.Eto'o will win the scudetto but never the champions league at inter,why?because Barca will win it,period.

the official website says that he will be able to travel w/the team for the u.s. tour but that he won't be able to play any minutes, at the very least, until the gamper game.

i'm so pissed i won't be able to see him play against galaxy in los angeles xO[ i've got great seats in section 19 h or something in towards the center of the pitch. i'll be with the chick who bought me the tickets but if anybody wants to spell out the word "barca" on our beer bellys in blue & red paint hit me up on this space ;^)
