Deal between Eto'o and Inter close

Catalan radio station RAC 1 claims that Josep Maria Mesalles, the agent of Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o (28) is in Milan to negotiate with Inter Milan officials.

Mesalles would have landed this afternoon at 5 pm in Milan. Inter reportedly offers the striker a year salary of 9 million euro plus incentives. Italian television channel Sky Sport 24 claims that a deal is close.

Inter president Massimo Moratti told journalists that he's confident that an agreement can be reached: "The negotiations are ongoing, we're making progress. The statements of Guardiola don't affect us, he can say what he wants and make the changes he wants. If Eto'o joins us because they don't want him anymore, we'll be happy because it's an excellent player. I'm confident. I'm sure that Eto'o will join us in the end..."

I said it before.. If you're a eto'o or ibra or villa fan, we need something up front, they are all world class.. But the longer it takes, the harder for barca: eto'o not happy here(neither is pepe with eto'o), villa not for sail..

Pellegrini is using a squad of last year players plus the most expensive player ever, understandably. He is probably going to play Albiol, Kaka, and Benzema in the second half. I want to see that and see if I can afford to keep on laughing!

Looks like laliga is bag on top...Bringin in ibra is def a plus for spain.

Etoo is a crazy striker, and i still rate him higher than zlatan in terms of goals, but zlatan is more enjoyable to watch.

I saw inters match yesterday, and he did not play as a main striker, he is just incredible ,,,his ball control is out of this world..hopefully with the all the assist he will get he can no doubt win the pichichi.

And please for all Ibra haters..plz go on youtube and look at his goals and passing skills...no way u can argue with that.

and anyone got any info on the possible midfielder we might b getting? it definately wont be a star name as pep said he wants someone cheap. Gona b interesting..all im worried about is our leftwing position.

Madrid gets 18m euros for Negredo. 23m euros for Huntelaar. Both unwanted at their club. I bet they can get 20m euros for 33-year old Nistelrooj too, the way they negotiate.

We are happy to get rid of one of the top 3 strikers in the world who scored 36 goals for us last season for a bag of chips and pat on the shoulder.

madrid buys player for ridiculous price and they sell players for flat price.don't give negredo example.he scored 15 goals in season before last season and 17 golas in last season with almeria.so he is la liga proven player.he is like david villa before joining valencia.even we can sell bojan for 15 m euro atleast.so you want to make business by selling your youngsters.mate football is not all about business.atleast not in spain.if so valencia would rush to sell villa for the sum we wanted to pay for him

madrid isnt used to teams parking the bus ,at least this madrid. with these transfers now the drew the media to them and every team will play them like they play us,it will be more difficult for madrid this year to get points.

ronaldo is doing fine when he is getting the ball and the team is doing great at passing the ball in midfield,they miss 2 crucial stuff,1 final pass ,guti isnt good enough,2 finish ,they play with raul and higuain upfront .......i bet if they throw benzema or ronaldo infront they will do better.

offcourse you cant judge from 1 game,and centairntly not from the first 30minutes,its a new team i think barca is going to have a good challenge for the title this year .

we will still win the league by miles though hehehehe

They had some suspect moments on counter attacks. I guess their defense will be better if you swap Albiol with Metzelder & Ramos with Torres, but their problem is that Marcelo is a huge liability.

So far Ronaldo has been shit.

Albiol ain't good defender.i have watched him several times.may be he looked good in valencia but playing for madrid which attracts so much media interest will be challenging for him.i dont rate most of their defenders.pepe is always a big question mark.ramos cant mark his opponent,marcelo is good in attack but worst in defense.they are selling garay.who else left in their defense?the one whom they rate so high lassana cant even hold the bal.dont forget he gifted us a laughing goal in bernabou.so their defense is still incompetent.leave about ucl theyv will have hard time in spain with such defense.

Huntelaar was a major flop, he is mediocre, and Madrid still manages to get such fees. The same for Negredo, who is a poor man's Guiza. Not to mention, Madrid managed to get 22m for Owen.

And what do we do? Getting rid of world class players for nothing! A shame!

they needed someone like mou not pelligrini.their main aim is to get past semi in UCL can't see it's happening with such line up.english teams are tough to break down.don't forget us and bayern.their squad is not balanced yet.they are just wasting money on attacking talents .football is not about superstars.it's all about tactics and right balance.ask mou,saf or even pep.

Not true. Madrid is after Xabi Alonso to partner Lass in midfield and they are after another defender (either RB or CB).Probably Maicon.

I think a team with Casillas, Maicon, Ramos, Pepe, Marcelo, Lass, Xabi Alonso, Kaka, Ronaldo, Higuain and Benzema is pretty OK.

check my link .madrid paid 20 m euro for huntelar with 7 m euro incentives promised to be paid over next 4 years.if they even sell him to stutgart for 20 m eurothey must pay that 7 m euro.so its a 7 m euro net loss for them.i bet they wont get 50 m euro for their superstars.

Nobody said that it wasn't a loss for them, but the fact that they manage to get such amounts for their unwanted players that they are desperate to get rid of speaks volumes.

If he were at us, we would probably let him go for about 5m euros with 2m incentives like we usually get for our players we want to get rid of.

Watch how much they are going to get for their other unwanted players. When they manage to get 37m euros for Owen and Woodgate, there is every chance that they are going to get well over 100m this time for their players.

Albiolis by no means a world class player.if so valencia wouldn't sell him for only 15 m euro.did you watch valecia matches last year.he made some awkward decisions last year.if not rafa would be running after him.you tell madrid got albiol on cheap as madrid is an intelligent club.look at ronaldo or kaka transfer.madrid is now in such a position that rafa doesn't want to sell xabi for less than 35 m euro.where as last year juve was offered to buy him for 20 m euro.madrid ruined transfer market and feeling the hit.

Madrid isn't a selling club either, so this has nothing to do with it. We get rid of players all the time, some young, some old, some who have been atrocious (Hleb), some flops. Unwanted players are unwanted at our club for all sorts of different reasons. Like getting rid of Eto'o because Pep thinks he is a prick. Eto'o is in his prime and it will come back and haunt us.

You're right only clowns judge a team based on summer friendlies...because a football club ain't much of a team pre season because pre season is used to help form that team....we are judging the individual players and if you watch ronaldo it seems he is already trying to prove something about himself to the world, to his team mates and he is lost my friend he is lost...infact if he was wearing a purple sharock jersey then we really wouldn't know who he was!!!

my observation from the match is pelligrini is not coach for madrid.he has some awful tactics,cant win UCL with this sort of technical skills he has shown today.he managed villareal well,but handling empty headed cristiano,benzema will be next to impossible for a low profile coach like him.they basically bought some shirt sellers.nothing special with this team

I don't hate them because of their history or anything because if bribing wasn't that easy and franco wasn't a madridista then real would have not had 9 european cups and 31 league titles most of which was won in the fifties and so on. Sanur, don't talk nonsense. It is this board that somehow is scared to death of our players leaving for other clubs. It is a small-club mentality which makes our players greedy and makes it very difficult for us to get any reasonable fee for our players.

Why do they feel they need to give our players so much money? Madrid even takes half the image rights of their players. Why can't we do this? Are we afraid of doing it? Are we not a big club that players all over the world would dream of playing at?

essi, Iniest, and Xavi to help him otherwise he is abit useless as we saw in the mallorca game at the end of last season...then you say of Zlatan of having a goaless European campaign..well mate Barca are a team and if Zlatan doesn't score we still have alot of others that can score...minus Eto'os goals we still scored more than any other team in Europe and only a few behind madrid maybe.

Exactly. We are experts at getting next to nothing for our players. Even a world class striker who had a fantastic season for us and has been a pain in the ass for Madrid every time we face them, and is the closest thing we have got to Luis Enrique and Stoichkov, we get nothing for him.

Eto'o works much harder all over the pitch something that Ibra does not. He is quicker then Ibra and he's got a much better attitude on the pitch then Ibra who often complains and waves his arms at team mates if the passes doesn't come exactly the way he wants them. Ibra is not gonna work hard and put pressure on opposing defenders like Eto'o and other in Barcelona does. Eto'o scores goals not just in La Liga but also in CL something Ibra almost never do. He scores almost all his goals in the Italian league but very few in CL or the swedish national team. I think that Barcelona is feeling pressured to sign a "big name" just because Madrid signed Kaka and Ronaldo and this is a nice opportunity to get rid of Eto'o. It will not be a good deal for Barcelona unless they can change Ibrahimovic attitude and the way he plays. But who knows, I may be wrong and this will be the best deal they've ever done! :)

What is it with you guys? Since when Eto'o was a Barca legend? Ronaldinho who was much better left barca and we've won the triple. FCB will go on believe me with or without Eto'o! Barca policy since long time is that some positions need to be changed every 4 years or so, like the central forward, in order to add motivation. and Ibra is the most fit for this position in this time of barca. he is technical, scorer and above all MOTIVATED. I am 100% with Pep decision. but i sometimes get feeling that you guys have started supporting barca only since 2004, the year Eto'o was signed

I think Slovan is just trying to say hes not happy with the way Eto was "pushed out". I have argued and am not going down that road again. My Love is for Barca, not for the coach or players. tho there are a few players I LOVE and I also Loved Rjikard (when he was on top of things). Players would come and go, barca would always remain. If Eto is being "silly", Barca should have handled it in a better way, since 2 wrongs never make a right. And our name is worth much more than Eto's or any individual, so we should have done a lot to protect it (More than just a club)
