Madrid sports tabloid As claims that Barcelona has reopened the option of signing Atlético Madrid forward and Uruguay international Diego Forlán (30).
With new Valencia president Vicente Soriano expected to announce today that Valencia forward David Villa will not leave this summer, Barcelona would now want to pay the 36 million euro° buyout clause of Forlán.
Catalan sports paper Sport claims that Barcelona sports director Txiki Begiristain called Forlán this weekend to inform him about the recent events. The Uruguayan striker would be delighted to join Barcelona but wants the clubs to reach an agreement first. Forlán also doesn't want to publicly express his wish to join Barcelona, like he did three years when Barcelona in the end signed Gudjohnsen.
