Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona central defender and Spanish international Gerad Piqué (22) has rejected an approach by new Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez.
Pérez, who was at the time preparing his bid for the presdency, would have contacted the entourage of the player two months ago to sound him out on a transfer to Real Madrid. Piqué, who has a buyout clause of 50 million euro°, made clear that joining Madrid is not an option for him.
