Josep Mesalles, the representative of Samuel Eto'o, showing at a press conference this morning the last-minute renewal offer (by mail and by sms) that Barcelona made last night around 23:30 pm. Messales seems to be a tough negotiator!! hhmmm....hoping for the best for Barca...
he is the nightmare for barca...
he is also hired by valdes.
How can hi show this to media??
NObdy does that and espesciallt not pros!
They were fed up, Manolo. They've said nothing for years and then things come out all at once. It seems the step too far was that they tried to portray Eto'o as the greedy guy only wanting to have more moeny, while they knew this was not at all true.
And at least everything is in the open now. No more sneaky play by some club directors and the press...

How 'Professional' is it of Barca board to offer a contract renewal by SMS at 11:30 p.m. on the day before the player was to hold a press conference and his agent had invited the Directors to appear on the same conference?
Why are the fans on this blog treating this matter with duplicity?

The fact you called it a 'show of shame' is telling. Nobody initiates a 'show of shame' if they want to stay at the club. They offered a renewal at 11:30pm as a last resort, definitely. However, all indication was that Eto'o never wanted to sign a renewal for the same wage. He will reject this renewal and use 'being insulted' as an excuse.
yes..its a shame its all happening, but eh? I dont blame Eto. I blame the silly ones sending text messages at 11:30pm. They called for it and got served. Thanx Larpot and co for the cup, but you blew it.
I am sure we agreed the Board is not the same as the club, cos I love Barca come rain, come shine.lol

Shame on who?
The one who goes to the press saying that they would like someoone to stay, then the next day say that the same someone has received a 'momentoous' offer making him the highest paid footballer on earth, and when the concerned someone call apress conference to clarify matters and invites the Directors of the club to th same press conference, they quickly send an offer by SMS in the middle of the night so that they can claim "Oh, but you see we are awaiting his response to our offer... "

Laporta defender? Hardly.
Would I rather believe a guy who's paid only to get the best contract for his client or would I rather believe a bunch of guys who put up millions to work for free on the behalf of the club. Hmm, that's a tough one, I wonder who has the club's best interests at heart.
Dont blame the whole board....its a 2 man show..Laporta and Tixi ...they did that last summer and he proved them wrong...and I can't believe they are doing it again now...If you are going to increase Valdes wages, it a no-brainer that Eto'o deserves an increase too...
I don't like to take sides as I don't know what going on behind the scene. Let us wait for the respond from Txiki or any board members.
I more worried what effect all this will have on the team cohesiveness next season if some of them feels short-changed by the treatment given to some while "perceived" preferential treatment to others.
I love Barcelona I am fan for a long time now . But I am disappointed by the treatment to Etto ! if he didn't play this season we would have the treble simple as that !!!!!!!!
ya i agree we have not behaved well with him its actually a shame on us for a big club like barca to let the matters go out of hand...but common i think going to press showing txt msg means he either want to force for pay rise or take revenge and go free with him getting the money next seson
and after all you cant blame laporta or trixi if the coach ahs some game plan and a certian player doesnot fit into it due to the requirements of the player which the coach needs .. and after all laporta nad trikxi are doing every thing in the best interest of club even thought they might have commited mistakes
