It's not specified but Sport suggests that it would be on loan since they say that he could still do the pre-season and then leave to Porto. If he would leave permanently, there's no reason why he should do the pre-season with us, I guess...

if its a permanent deal i dont agree to it at all. henrique is a good defender and will get better. henrique is the better option between the two. if its a loan deal than i dont mind but that would probably mean milito would have to go.

Why in the hell are we selling Henrique 22 who we just bought?

Oh wait because we have a large number of CB's coming through the youth academy that look very good from Muniesa to Botia to Bolanos (who man utd were interested in, another pique perhaps?) all of whom make the spanish national yth teams. And in 3-5 years they will be ready so get rid of henrique so we can get our yth team players a spot in 3-5 years when alves is 32.

But why then you ask would we buy Henrique and Caceres for a combined total of about 25 million euros last summer? Thats down to the magic of txiki

if the scout reports are that good then they think of Bruno Alves as a starter alongside Marquez & Puyol, Henrique is bench material, and if he develops into a good defender with Porto we can sign him later.

I clearly expect Pique to be the Regular starter in the center of defense, and with Marquez aging and Puyol needed to cover the right full back position which the club decided not to invest in during this transfer window, the team needs a player who can step in and provide cover for Marquez and Puyol. players like Caceres and Henrique might have great future but the technical staff might be thinking of a first team starter that can swap with the regulars, instead of getting youngsters that will benefit from more playing time.

shane it's really bad to change your mind about someone in 1 match, bruno made a mistake so what, valdes makes mistakes, marquez makes mistakes, puyol makes mistakes. try not to be so fickle.

bruno is a talented defender and no one i mean no one beats this guy to a ball in the air(not literally but just an example of how good he is), he is as strong of vidic and is a very smart marker. manu got lucky with ronaldo's long shot but other than that manu was helpless against porto's defense.

bruno will dominate next to pique with puyol on the left flank and abidal as back up cause depor is asking for alot of money like all other small clubs with presidents who don't know how to stick to market value. keep henrique and sell milito and loan caceres.

Marc4barca I agree about 1 match evaluation stuff, and it is common sense really. I can make a video of Xavi miss passes and Valdez mistakes..etc and can make another one about the first assist and the second super save in the CL final and both don't indicate the quality of both of them.
but I must disagree with keeping Abidal on the bench, the guy is the best defensive one we had on the flanks for so long time, about a decade.. he shuts the entire area behind the left forward and left side of the midfield and cover space horizontally too; supporting the two center backs when D.Alves is playing as the opponent goal keeper.
the next season is so long that we can guarantee 4 center backs a lot of games, provided that we advance through the CL group stage and arriving to advanced stages in the copa del rey too.. Puyol versatility means he can be a back up for both full backs and both center backs.

i'm ok with that if we get filipe to back up abidal but if we don't i prefer to rotate puyol and abidal with puyol as the main starter for the flank bruno and pique in center with henrique and muniesa/botia as back up and puyol of course when really needed.
