It all depends on how much we pay for him. Anything over $10-15 million and I don't think he is worth it. He is certainly not in the same league as Eto'o or Villa. He is however proven in Liga and I think would be a very good team player. I think he could fit into the team very nicely. He has a good personality and team spirit about him.

He won't replace Eto'o, Barcelona is looking for one more top forward because we're short with only Messi, Henry and Eto'o. Bojan is there too but he's young and that's still only four for three positions. Hleb has everything to proof on the wings, Iniesta preferes playing in midfield.

So we'll have one more guy and if Eto'o goes we'll have two.

The problem last season was that if we played our best 11:

Valdes Alves Puyol Pique Abidal Xavi Iniesta Toure Messi Eto'o Henry

We don't have any subs that can help us if we aren't playing well and losing the game. Bojan is great but he needs more time. Forlan would make that difference. I would prefer us to buy Kanoute though. He is extremely skilled and great finishing too. If we get both of these and use one of them as a LW, then we can still have money to get Zhrikov/Felipe and maybe some other cheap CM or just place our trust in Busquets and promote Thiago.

Everybody is out of the race for Villa for now. If they put him back on the market (very unlikely since they have new funds), Madrid is back in (and leading the race).

if eto'o resigns, then forlan's a fantastic pickup as a substitute (and starter during the african cup).

if not, this is a significant downgrade.

I don't think Forlan would come for bench role. Most probably Eto'o will go to Man City or ManU since his demands will upset our salary structure and it is very difficult for us to get Villa. So we should go for Benzema or Aguero (I prefer both) and sign an experienced non expensive CF (Kanote) as sub.

Also sign a LB would solve our problems.

@inieeeeeeeeeeeesta ManU is trying to get Benzema so if we don't sign him now most probably he will be the next CR for Real Mad for 100 mil or something.

Anything 20m or more is overpaying for a 30 year old striker. I wouldn't pay much more than 10m for one. Go buy a young player like Keirrison for much cheaper.

However, with elections coming up next year Laporta/Txiki are on borrowed time and they know the next president will shake things up, especially if it is Sandro.

back up i don't mind but starter is a no. we aren't going to sign him anyways since the only way he could leave is his 36mil buyout clause which barca won't pay for 30yr old(that's more than what barca paid for henry)

Man. United offered Lyon 35,5M for Benzema and Atletico is asking 36M buyout clause for 30 y.o. player. Ridiculous.

The cheapest solution is to renew Eto'o's contract. According to "Mundo deportivo" and "Sport" Laporta said that both him and Pep are eager to see him playing for Barca for a many years. This year renew Eto'o, next year sell Henry.

He will be backup for Eto'o, and Eto'o will resign....I think that will be the case. As for the Bojan, he will be backup for wing position and he will not play as forward anymore...that is my opinion...
