Together with Barcelona player Seydou Keita, Laporta inaugurated the first XICS centre in Mali. The centre in Bamako is the biggest yet in the Network of Solidarity Centres of Barcelona's foundation. It will be supporting almost one hundred children aged between 7 and 16 years in vulnerable situations.
